PJSC Rostelecom, the operator of the "Gosuslugi" portal, has confirmed the technical feasibility of creating a system to notify citizens about leaks of their personal data in personal accounts.
Igor Lyapunov, Senior Vice President of Cybersecurity at the company, noted that this function could be implemented on the basis of "Gosuslugi", since the portal is a flexible tool for exchanging information. However, the decision to launch such a function depends on the assessment of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media (Mintsifry).
The idea of creating such a service was proposed by Anton Ivanov, Technical Director of Kaspersky Lab. He proposed introducing a notification mechanism that would notify citizens about leaks of their data, such as email and phone, so that users can quickly respond to the leak. These notifications may also relate to data leaked from marketplaces or online stores. Such a service could help users take timely measures to protect their data.
