An improved BTR-82A armored personnel carrier with enhanced armor protection has been developed in Russia. Footage was shown at Rosoboronexport, the vehicle's appearance significantly differs from the BTR-82.
The eight-wheeled armored personnel carrier is designed to accommodate 10 people and can accelerate on the highway up to 80 km/h thanks to a 330 hp diesel engine.
The improved BTR is armed with a 30 mm 2A72 cannon and can withstand the impact of B-32 armor-piercing bullets.
The BTR-82A armored personnel carrier with enhanced anti-mine and ballistic protection is designed for use in combined arms units of the Land Forces, naval infantry units of the Navy, and special units for transporting personnel and combating similar products, surface and air targets, and enemy manpower, and protecting the combat crew inside the vehicle.
Earlier, Rostec reported that the American F-16 fighter is a typical target for the Pantsir-S1 air defense missile system. The system also confidently destroys Western low-observable Storm Shadow cruise missiles and high-precision rockets of multiple launch rocket systems.
