The BMR-3MA "Vepr" combat demining vehicle, developed by Uralvagonzavod (part of Rostec), is used to clear agricultural land of explosive objects.
Using a special trawl, moving at a speed of 5-12 km/h, it paves a safe road among the mines, suitable in width for the passage of armored, special and civilian equipment.
After the BMR-3MA works in the field, sappers come out to clear the area with probes and mine detectors. Explosive objects that cannot be removed are destroyed on the spot.
"Vepr" is built on the basis of the T-90 tank. When this machine goes to work, it moves in the vanguard of the column, which means it is exposed to the greatest danger. At the same time, not only from below, where mines explode, but also from above, from where, for example, a strike drone or another type of weapon can arrive.
To protect the crew, the vehicle is equipped with increased protection, including dynamic protection. The possibility of creating a fully unmanned complex is also being considered.
Earlier www1.ru wrote that Russian combat helicopters have turned into drone motherships to destroy kamikaze boats in the Black Sea. They have become carriers of copters, simplifying their launch and significantly increasing the range of combat use.
