Russian scientists from MIPT have developed software for processing electrical exploration data used to search for oil, gold, and other minerals. This software allows creating three-dimensional models of areas of the Earth's interior, collected using electrical exploration methods. The development helps reduce the risks of unproductive drilling and increase the efficiency of resource extraction.
One of the key advantages is the possibility of parallel computing on multi-core and multi-processor systems, which significantly speeds up the calculation process on full-size geological models. At the same time, the software is completely domestic, without the use of commercial libraries, and is easily adapted to the needs of specific customers.
The development is especially relevant in the context of limited access to foreign solutions from companies from Canada and France, making this software in demand among Russian oil and gold mining companies.
