The frigate "Admiral Golovko" of the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy hit an attack unmanned aerial vehicle of the aircraft type in the Barents Sea. The sailors used the "Poliment-Redut" vertical launch naval anti-aircraft missile system.

The combat exercise was carried out during an air defense exercise. The military launched a flying target from the coast that simulated an aircraft-type drone, which was heading straight for the ship. The sailors calculated the object, captured the target, escorted it, and destroyed it.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the target was eliminated by a light anti-aircraft guided missile 9M100 with radio command guidance.

The effective range of the 9M100 SAM reaches 15 km, the "dead zone" is less than 500 m, the altitude of the targets hit is up to 8000 m, and the speed of the targets hit reaches 3600 km/h. Radio command guidance is provided by a 16-channel AFAR radar of the X-band "Poliment".

The "Redut" ammunition also includes highly maneuverable medium-range 9M96D interceptor missiles with a range of up to 55 km, as well as 9M96DM with a range of up to 150 km. The altitude of the targets hit by these SAMs can reach 25 and 35 km, respectively.
