Московский метрополитен принял еще семь новых мотовозов

Seven STS270 motor trolleys will help improve the maintenance and repair of the metro's tracks.

The Moscow Metro has received seven more new motor trolleys, and now 20 units are undergoing acceptance tests. These motor trolleys, produced in Russia, are designed to improve the efficiency and quality of metro maintenance.

Typically, these machines go to work at night, performing a number of key tasks: they deliver rails to track repair sites and remove old ones, help transport complex and heavy equipment, and also ensure the delivery of employees and tools to work sites. In addition, motor trolleys are used on construction sites of the metro and participate in tunnel cleaning.

The Moscow Department of Transport reported that these motor trolleys were ordered in 2023 to replace the outdated fleet and improve the efficiency of metro track maintenance. The new model is called STS270.

The new motor trolleys are equipped with improved sound insulation in the cabin, a climate control system, additional seats for workers, and a crane-manipulator. Technical requirements for the purchase included the presence of a hydromechanical automatic transmission, a diesel engine not lower than Euro-3 level, and a design speed of up to 60 km/h.

The winner of the tender for the supply of motor trolleys was initially the Tikhoretsk Machine-Building Plant. However, a contract for 41 motor trolleys worth 1.5 billion rubles was then concluded with Metrovagonmash, which is part of Transmashholding. The TMH plant involved the company "Modern Traction Systems" in the production of these motor trolleys, which patented their industrial design in January 2024.
