British journalists have compiled a rating of the best-selling cars in the world. It includes two models that have been assembled at AvtoVAZ for a long time. Read more below.
In first place in the ranking is the Toyota Corolla. Since 1966, various modifications of the car have been purchased 61 million times. In second place are the Ford F-series pickups. Since 1948, 43 million units have been purchased.
More than 36 million units of the Volkswagen Golf have been purchased since 1974. This secured the model third place in the ranking of the best-selling cars.
In seventh place are domestic cars LADA Riva. These are the "Zhiguli" fifth and seventh models (VAZ-2105, VAZ-2107). From 1980 to 2015, 18 million of these cars were sold.
Note that the ranking also includes the Nissan Sunny, Chevrolet Impala, Honda Civic, Opel Corsa, as well as the BMW 3-series and Renault Clio.
