The unmanned cleaning robot Unit visited the International Forum of Digital Technologies in Transport and Logistics, "Digital Transportation-2024." It was created by YaCuAi for cleaning shopping centers, supermarkets, warehouses, and airports, and both the software and the chassis of the robot are Russian.
The Unit robot is an autonomous floor cleaning machine. It can replace popular foreign solutions, such as Chinese Wellland floor cleaning machines, which often require an operator. The characteristics of Unit are as follows:
- equipped with an RTLS system that allows it to work effectively in an area of up to 20,000 m², and keeps the robot within the specified working area;
- the robot's lidar recognizes obstacles at 360 degrees, and the radar ensures reliable safety;
- stereo camera plus neural network - classify obstacles, including glass fences and reflective surfaces, and distinguish people;
- a single charge is enough for non-stop cleaning of 4200m2;
- Unit can be cleaned even at night, as it does not require operator control;
- the robot's structural design helps it clean spaces at a distance of 3cm from walls and furniture.
Earlier, the Student Design Bureau of NUST MISIS showed a prototype of an improved domestic robot vacuum cleaner. Its cleaning quality is close to manual cleaning: not a speck of dust remains in the corners or along the walls thanks to the innovative design of the device.
