According to Autostat specialists, this is more than for the entire 2023: then Russians purchased 544,000 "Chinese" cars for all 12 months of the year. According to the agency's forecast, total sales of new passenger cars of Chinese brands will amount to 900,000 units by the end of 2024.
Two brands exceeded the mark of 100,000 cars sold in 2024 – Haval (116.7 thousand units) and Chery (102.1 thousand units). Geely will join them by the end of September (sales for 8 months – 96.7 thousand units), and Changan will join this company by the end of the year (71.5 thousand units). As for other Chinese brands, the sales volume of each of them for the reporting period was less than 40 thousand units, so their possible entry into the "club 100" is postponed to next year.
Chinese car brands now occupy about 33% of the Russian market, but, in the future, according to various forecasts, by 2030 they will capture up to 70% of its volume.
