Убийственная русская матрёшка: Россия впервые в истории применила «авиаматку» для FPV-дронов

The FPV carrier eliminates the disadvantage of the short range of drones

The Russian Armed Forces have for the first time in history used FPV drone carriers deep behind the front lines. This method will significantly increase the area of destruction of military equipment and enemy manpower.

Forbes journalists noted that the "drone-matryoshka" carrying other drones has become another defining technological step forward.

The operating time of a standard FPV drone with good batteries is about 15 minutes. This provides a range of up to 30 km. Therefore, engineers are working on creating drone carriers that can increase the range of FPV drones. Russia has already developed several models of unmanned aerial vehicles for delivering strike drones to the line of contact.

The military noted that the unit was damaged after being hit by two standard FPVs on an 8-inch frame. This happened 40 km from the front line. Thus, the targets of drones from the "air mother" can be, for example, aircraft in the parking lot or fuel storage facilities.

Earlier, footage of the operation of "air mothers" for drones on the front line appeared online. UAV carriers of FPV drones are also equipped with repeaters for stable communication.
