New "Legionnaire" First Aid Kit from "Kalashnikov" Undergoing Frontline Testing

Some components of the two-tiered first aid kit — such as dressings, anti-burn remedies, and painkillers — are unique developments of the concern

The "Kalashnikov" concern showcased its individual first aid kit (APPI) "Legionnaire" at the Second All-Russian Arms Forum. According to the concern, all its components are currently being tested on the front lines.

Some components are developed exclusively by "Kalashnikov" specialists and have no analogues.

In particular, the only kaolin-based hemostatic bandage of the III generation with an X-ray contrast strip in Russia. It has a registration certificate from Roszdravnadzor, has been tested at the State Research Institute of Naval Medicine of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, and has shown 88% effectiveness in stopping massive arterial bleeding, which is the best result among all hemostatic agents presented in Russia.

The unique developments of the concern in this first aid kit also include:

  • a promising individual dressing package based on a self-fixing elastic bandage with a kaolin pad; 
  • an anti-burn remedy based on track membranes for self-help and mutual assistance on the battlefield;
  • sublingual analgesic ketorolac for relieving moderate to severe pain syndrome, the speed of achieving a therapeutic effect of which is comparable to intramuscular administration.
