In August 2024, ahead of the upcoming presentation of new devices from Apple, demand for Apple smartphone repairs in Russia increased by 83% compared to the same period last year, according to Avito Services.
The most common repair needed for Apple devices is screen glass replacement. Russians also frequently request replacement of the charging port. According to Avito, among popular brands, Apple smartphones are repaired first, followed by devices from Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, and Huawei.
Overall, demand for smartphone repairs in Russia has increased by 20%. Avito attributes this to the fact that modern phone models have sufficient functionality and memory capacity, so owners prefer to repair them rather than replace them with new ones.
In addition, repairs of Samsung gadgets have also increased by 1.5 times. The most common repairs for Samsung smartphones are glass and speaker replacements. For Xiaomi, Honor, and Huawei devices, there is also an increasing need to replace not only the charging port but also the microphone.
