It is known that the work is being carried out as part of the planned overhaul of power unit No. 5. Specialists will clean the water collection basins of the cooling towers from sand, silt, and other debris. Next, they will check the pipelines for supplying water to the cooling towers and sprinklers with nozzles.

The Rosatom press service emphasized that the repair will extend the service life of the cooling tower water distribution system. This will allow energy to be produced safely and without failures.

The Leningrad NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in the country. It was put into operation in 1973.
