The Chinese Ministry of Defense announced that Russia will participate in the joint exercises with the Chinese military, "Northern Interaction-2024," which will take place in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk in September. Naval and air forces will be involved in the maneuvers, writes Army Recognition.
Since the early 1990s, Russia and China have developed a strategic partnership amid Beijing's desire to increase its technological and defense potential. Cooperation between the two countries has strengthened through arms supply deals from Russia.
Although direct arms sales have become less visible, joint projects for the development of heavy helicopters, submarines, and missile technologies are gaining momentum. This indicates a deeper level of technical integration and interdependence.
In recent years, Russia and China have begun to conduct joint exercises more frequently. The maneuvers are becoming more complex, involving more equipment, including ships and aircraft.
