Отследить ребёнка по геолокации стало проще: МТС ввёл в сервисе «Кто/Где» настраиваемые геозоны

The feature will help determine their location with an accuracy of up to 21 meters, even with unstable GPS

Tests of this MTS feature in "Who/Where" have been ongoing since March 2024 in beta. Now, geofences have been permanently integrated into the application for tracking children, family members, and friends. Their location is now determined with an accuracy of up to 21 meters, and users receive prompt notifications if they leave the designated geofences.

Geofences are virtual spaces set within specific boundaries on a map. In the application, you can set up to 10 geofences for different users and receive notifications when they enter or exit them. The application receives data not only from conventional satellite systems but also from base stations, which makes it possible to determine a specific location with disabled or unstable GPS with an accuracy of up to 21 meters. At the same time, the exchange of coordinates is possible only with users who consent to it, ensuring the security of personal data.

Overall, the number of users of geosocial maps in Russia has increased by 40% over the past year and now stands at more than 9 million people.
