Elections in Russia from September 6 to 8: a list of technical capabilities for voters

Remote electronic voting became available in six more regions for the first time

In a number of Russian regions, a three-day voting period begins on Friday for elections at various levels. In some constituent entities, elections will last two days — September 7 and 8, while in others they will be held on a single voting day on September 8.

As for the technical capabilities for voters, remote electronic voting (DEG) will be used both in regional and municipal elections in 25 constituent entities of the country, covering six time zones.

In six regions, DEG is being used for the first time — these are the Altai Republic, Komi Republic, Mari El Republic, Chechen Republic, as well as the Kostroma and Smolensk regions. Online voting will be organized in 464 election campaigns, including seven campaigns for elections of regional governors: Altai Republic, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Kursk, Lipetsk, Murmansk and Chelyabinsk regions.

According to the latest data, about 920 thousand applications have been submitted for participation in DEG on the federal platform, covering more than 11 million people.

The "Mobile Voter" service allows you to vote at any convenient polling station in Russia, and not only at the place of permanent or temporary registration. About 550 thousand applications have been submitted for voting at the place of stay through this mechanism.

In Moscow, DEG will be held on a regional platform, and residents of the capital are not required to submit an application to participate in online voting.

In the capital, from September 6 to 8, elections of deputies of the Moscow City Duma of the eighth convocation will be held, as well as deputies in eight municipal districts of New Moscow and in the Kurkino municipal district. During these days, all voting methods will be available to Moscow residents. They will be able to vote online on the elec.mos.ru page if they have permanent registration in Moscow and a full account on the mos.ru portal.
