A thermostatic sleeve for heating pipelines has been created at the Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov (SSTU). This was reported by the university's press service.
The device can be used in the housing and communal services (HCS) sector.
The thermostatic sleeve is designed for heating and maintaining the temperature of sections or elements of engineering systems, as well as for preventing emergency situations in communal systems.
The new development is intended to maintain the temperature of liquids in water tanks and pipelines of various engineering systems in the cold season. This reduces the risk of communal accidents.
We propose using a thermostatic sleeve, which is an innovative solution for efficient and safe heating of pipelines and cylindrical surfaces. Its universal design allows it to adapt to different diameters due to the modularity of the elements, which makes it possible to create the required heating surface.
The sleeve is compact and easy to use. The built-in thermostat allows you to control the heating level.
Also among the main advantages is portability, since the ability to connect to a portable power source makes the sleeve convenient for use in various conditions, whether in the field or at stationary facilities. Compact storage - the sleeve folds easily and takes up minimal space, which simplifies its transportation and storage.
The device will eliminate ice and hydrate plugs in sections of gas pipelines. It is also suitable for sewage systems in wastewater discharge locations.
