A prototype of a ground control complex antenna has been created at the Siberian State University of Telecommunications and Informatics (SibGUTI) to increase the flight range of unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported by the university's press service.
The device increases the communication range with UAVs to 20 km.
I modified a traditional antenna that was originally designed for 10 GHz satellite broadcasting. We use the entire area of the antenna as a platform for focusing and amplifying the signal to control the drone.
The developer plans to assemble a ground control complex and make the antenna rotatable. This will further increase the range of drones.
