The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has initiated cases against communication operators Megafon, Beeline, and MTS, the antimonopoly agency's press service reported.
All three operators failed to comply with the regulations regarding the cost of communication services in Crimea and Sevastopol.
Communication operators were required to cancel the additional fee on top of the subscription fee when located in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
If the operators' guilt is confirmed, they will be fined. All funds will go to the federal budget.
According to the FAS, the prerequisites for charging additional fees for communication services have been eliminated.
This was the result of the case against K-telecom LLC (the main operator in the Republic of Crimea). Tariffs for inter-operator roaming interaction services have been reduced by 2-3 times, which currently allows us to move to the final stage of creating comfortable conditions for subscribers traveling in Russia - the abolition of such fees.
Currently, the use of communication services in all-Russian roaming has already been implemented by Crimean operators K-telecom and KTK-telecom.
In addition, operator T2 (formerly Tele2) will cancel additional fees for communication services in Crimea and Sevastopol by October 8, 2024.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that operator Tele2 will cancel roaming in Crimea and Sevastopol.
