Russian Minister of Transport Roman Starovoit stated that by 2030, the number of river transport passengers in Russia will increase to 19 million people annually. In the current year, 2024, it is planned to transport more than 12 million passengers by river fleet.
According to the calculations of the Ministry of Transport, the volume of cargo transportation by river transport will also increase. In 2024, it is planned to transport 120 million tons of cargo, and by 2030, this figure should reach 190 million tons per year.
To implement these plans, reconstructions are being carried out on 26 marine and river infrastructure facilities under the control of the Federal State Institution "Rostransmodernizatsiya."
