Unit 1 of the Rostov NPP, which is located 16 km from Volgodonsk, was disconnected from the grid due to a detected defect in the turbine. This was reported by the press service of JSC "Concern Rosenergoatom".
Employees of the nuclear facility will fix the defect and connect the power unit to the grid, and then bring it to its nominal capacity.
There are no violations of the limits and conditions for the safe operation of equipment.
The concern emphasized that the radiation background near the Rostov NPP remains normal. It does not exceed normal values. Currently, only power units No. 3, 4 are operating at the station. Scheduled repairs of power unit No. 2 began on July 24.
The construction of the Rostov NPP began in 1977. The facility was commissioned in 2001. All reactors at the station are VVER-1000.
