Advanced military short-range anti-aircraft missile systems "Tor-M2" on the front line have been additionally protected with modular anti-cumulative screens of spaced armor. This was pointed out by military expert Evgeny Damatsev.
According to him, complexes located 50 km from the line of combat contact received these protection kits. Anti-cumulative screens provide defocusing of jets of cumulative warheads placed on FPV kamikaze drones.
In addition, the kits will provide additional ballistic protection of the side armor plates of the combat module from the fragmentation effect of rockets and high-explosive fragmentation shells of cannon artillery.
The Tor-M2 guidance station processes up to four targets simultaneously. Improved supersonic 9M338K missiles are launched at them, developing speeds of up to 3600 km/h and capable of hitting enemy aircraft at a distance of 1–12 km and at altitudes of up to 10 km. When "working" on non-maneuvering targets, the range of missiles is up to 15–20 km.
