The Russian Yak-52 training aircraft will be modernized to combat strike and reconnaissance drones. This was announced by Dmitry Motin, head of the modernization project at the Aviastroitel Design Bureau.
Modernizing the Yak-52 training aircraft into the Yak-52B2 'UAV Counteraction Aircraft' modification is one of the priority projects for our bureau. We are currently awaiting the receipt of an airworthiness certificate from Rosaviatsiya.
According to him, as part of the modernization, the aircraft will receive new instrumentation, including a multifunctional display in the rear cockpit. Engineers will modernize the radar, the electronic warfare system to suppress communication channels, and navigation and piloting equipment.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that Mi-28N helicopters have been adapted for Khrizantema-VM tactical missiles. Their maximum range is at least 5000 meters.
