Rosneft has developed a new hydrodynamic simulator called RN-KIM, the company's press service reported.
The device will allow predicting oil production volumes. The developers have expanded the simulator's functionality. This will enable modeling well operations with hydraulic fracturing (HF) cracks, taking into account the complex geometry and fluid flow characteristics in the crack.
A function for modeling the dissolution of natural salt contained in the rock has been added to the upgraded version of the software. Accounting for this physical phenomenon allows choosing the most effective method for developing the field, as injecting water to displace oil increases the permeability of the rock and affects the mineralization of the produced products.
The new model works in integration with the corporate geomechanical simulator RN-SIGMA. This approach has made it possible to account for the effects associated with changes in the state of the oil reservoir during oil production.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that a way to accelerate the extraction of highly viscous oil was invented in Perm.
