The Kalashnikov Group presented an improved version of the "Record" sniper rifle at the "Army-2024" forum. Key Changes and Innovations

One of the key changes is the new layout of the weapon. Unlike the classic design, where the receiver was placed in the stock, the modernized version uses the receiver itself as the main structural element. A multifunctional forend is now attached to it, which improves the overall rigidity of the structure and its stability when firing.

A new magazine made of modern polymer material was developed for the modernized rifle. As a result of this improvement, the "Record" can now use standard SVD magazines, which significantly increases its ease of use, as previously only original magazines for this model were used, which were quite rare.

Among other changes, a new buttstock and the relocation of the safety lever can be noted, which is now positioned so that it is more convenient to operate with the thumb. These improvements are designed to improve the ergonomics of the weapon and ensure its more comfortable use in various combat conditions.

History and Specifications of the SV-98 Rifle

The SV-98 7.62 mm sniper rifle, on which the "Record" rifle is based, is designed to engage enemy personnel at ranges up to 1000 meters. It is equipped with Picatinny rails, which allow the installation of various sights and additional devices depending on the current combat tasks.
