Specialists of the Astron Aero Design Bureau have developed a complex for detecting and countering small-sized strike drones and FPV drones "Combat Anti-Drone". It was first shown at the "Army-2024" forum.
According to a representative of the Design Bureau, the complex combines several subsystems.
The first is radar tracking: the system detects a threat at distances up to 5 km, then radio jamming devices are activated. In case of radio jamming failure, a phased acoustic array subsystem is activated, which determines the types of targets by sound at a distance of up to 2 km.
The next stage is the target acquisition by a ground-based optoelectronic station. When a UAV approaches 800-1000 m, a command is automatically transmitted to the interceptor drone to suppress the threat.
Interceptor drones work in conjunction with the "Combat Anti-Drone": an airplane-type UAV and a high-speed drone. They ram the target, hit it with pyrotechnic cartridges, or attack it with a detachable net.
The software for the complex was created by Russian programmers. In September, the developers will present the complex to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. It is expected that the "Combat Anti-Drone" will enter the troops.
