The social network "Odnoklassniki" has introduced an updated system for configuring the privacy of publications. Now users can choose who will see their posts on the page: only friends, all users of the social network, or the audience of the "Hobbies" service. The new update makes it possible to restrict access to individual posts and reactions to them, even if the profile is open to everyone.
The updated system allows you to configure the visibility of each publication, regardless of the overall level of profile privacy. So, if all your entries are visible only to friends, you can make a specific post available to all users of the social network, and vice versa. The system also manages the visibility of reactions in the feed: if you have restricted the visibility of a publication to friends only, their reactions to it will not appear in the feed for unauthorized users.
Alexander Moskvichev, Product Director at OK, noted that there is a growing need for users to share their thoughts and content with a limited circle of people. Many perceive their profile as a personal space and do not always want to receive comments or reactions from unfamiliar people. To create a more comfortable communication environment in OK, a new privacy system was developed that allows you to control the visibility of not only publications, but also reactions to them, even with a completely open profile.
The new system combines all publication privacy settings, including the ability to post notes in the "Hobbies" service. To do this, you must select the appropriate parameter when publishing — after moderation and verification by OK editors, the entry will appear in the service and become available to its users. This option is suitable for publications related to hobbies that are intended for a wide audience with similar interests. This will provide publications with greater response and allow users to receive feedback and recommendations from like-minded people.
