A new repair and evacuation workshop on the K-53958 Tornado-K chassis in an export version will be presented at the upcoming Army-2024 forum. The first shots of the development have appeared online.
The exact characteristics of the vehicle are currently unknown. The lifting capacity on the hook is stated to be 16 tons.
In 2021, Igor Zarakhovich, Chief Designer of Remdiesel, reported that the company planned to create an onboard truck and a tank transporter based on the K-53958 8x8 wheeled chassis, and a semi-trailer truck and an onboard truck based on the K-5395 6x6 wheeled chassis.
It is known from open sources that the carrying capacity of the K-53958 chassis is 25 tons, the cab is unified with the Typhoon-K: it is cabover, fully armored and protected. The vehicle body is mounted on a frame with 28-centimeter side members and a 34 cm high subframe.
