The Research Institute of Steel (part of the Kalashnikov concern) will present the modernized Bars-M titanium armored helmet with a new visor for the first time at the Army-2024 International Military-Technical Forum. The product is a continuation of the Bars line of titanium helmets.
The structure of the helmet remained the same, although the development itself differs from its predecessors in a new form factor, closer to the real shape of the human head, as well as the presence of stampings for low-profile active headphones in the ear area.
A special glass structure was created, which consists of a combination of materials. As a result, the visor can withstand two shots from a 9-mm Stechkin automatic pistol at a temperature range from -40°C to +40°C.
Technical characteristics of the Bars-M armored helmet:
- helmet weight in assembly with visor - 3.4 kg
- visor protection area - 5 dm²
- helmet protection class - Br2 according to GOST R 57560-2017
- visor protection class - Br1 according to GOST R 57560-2017
The Army-2024 Forum will be held at the Patriot Exhibition Center from August 12 to 14.
