The modernization of the Russian mini-quadcopter 400T UAV with a domestic thermal imager has increased the probability of detecting and hitting enemy targets on the front line from 50% to 90%. This was announced by Vitaly Serov, the general designer of the manufacturing company Astron.
We are not allowed to disclose the exact number of drones used, but today there are hundreds of devices. We managed to improve and stabilize the image. The probability of detection and defeat by dropping increased from approximately 50% to 90%. Currently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on behalf of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, is carrying out activities to purchase components for FPV drones.
According to him, work on improving the drone's characteristics continues on a daily basis. Serov noted that robotic and unmanned systems are developing towards automatic continuous navigation, greater autonomy of movement and task execution, target tracking and all-weather capture.
Characteristics of the 400T UAV drone:
- Take-off weight - 1.195 kg
- Dimensions - 340 x 290 x 114 mm
- Maximum flight speed in calm weather - 10 m/s
- Radius of action - up to 6000 m
- Operating temperature range - -10 ...+40 °C
- Positioning system - GPS, GLONASS
Earlier www1.ru reported that a twin-engine PD-2900 drone from the Geran line with Su-57 coloring wasdeveloped in China. The declared flight duration is 12 hours with a range of up to 2500 km and a speed of up to 250 km/h.
