The twentieth Moskva-2024 series train was accepted into the Sokol depot

The share of modern carriages in the Moscow Metro has reached 74%

The 20th Moskva-2024 series train has been accepted into the Sokol depot. It replaced the old "Numbered" train on the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow Metro. The Moskva-2024 trains have improved characteristics.

The share of new trains on the Zamoskvoretskaya line has reached almost 20%, and a complete replacement of old carriages is planned by 2026.

The main differences between the new Moskva-2024 train and the previous Moskva-2020 series:

  • The passage distance has been increased, which has increased the capacity of the carriage by 17 people.
  • The seats have become wider and more comfortable thanks to the use of more practical upholstery material.
  • USB charging devices are now located on the handrails, and in the future it is planned to install Type-C ports and increase the number of connectors.
  • The head carriages are now equipped for the convenience of passengers with limited mobility.
  • Increased capacity: Compared to the "Numbered" carriages, the maximum capacity of the Moskva-2024 train has increased by 10%.
  • The doors have become 32% wider, which speeds up passenger boarding and disembarking.
  • The train has a through passage from the first to the last carriage, and the sound insulation has been improved.

The share of modern carriages in the Moscow Metro has reached 74%. An even more modern Moskva-2026 train is already under development.

In addition to updating the rolling stock, the metro infrastructure is being actively modernized. Cable lines, tunnel ventilation systems, escalators and tracks are being replaced. Wooden sleepers are being replaced with concrete-rubber blocks, which reduce noise levels. Currently, such blocks have already been installed at 106 stations.
