New Firefighting Equipment Arrives in the Orenburg Region

The use of a fire protection system helped reduce the number of fires last year

New equipment for fighting fires has been purchased in the Orenburg region. By the end of this year, regional authorities plan to purchase 10 more drones to monitor the forest fund territory. This was announced by the Governor of the Orenburg Region, Denis Pasler.

In 2023, the region launched the "Lesokhranitel" video monitoring system for landscape fires. It records fires and transmits information about the fire to the regional dispatch service of the forest protection and to the district forestry.

Technical characteristics of the "Lesokhranitel" video monitoring system:

  • Monitoring radius - up to 35 km.
  • Smoke coordinate error - no more than 150 m.
  • Coverage - 360°.
  • Number of specialists - 1 dispatcher for every 30 cameras.
  • Operator notification methods - light and sound signals, messages in messengers and email.

The integrated platform automatically detects fire during the day and night. It reacts to both black and white smoke.

Thanks to the "Lesokhranitel" system, the number of forest fires in the Orenburg region has decreased by more than 4 times. The area of the fire has decreased by 29 times.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Moscow developed a system for detecting fires using drones and charging towers.
