The fact that the Russian "R-Phone" is successfully used outside the country became known after the International Round Table in the government of the Pskov region this week.
The "R-Phone" is included in the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, sales for corporate clients and government agencies started in December 2023 on the official website of the developer company STC IT ROSA. But the fact that it is already being used in other countries has not been mentioned yet.
This is the domestic smartphone R-PHONE, which we use in foreign business missions. It is secure, and this is important for our foreign contractors and partners. These are Russian technologies that are in demand.
The round table, where the presentation of the "R-Phone" took place, was attended by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rossotrudnichestvo, authorities and non-profit organizations from 11 regions of Russia, Moscow Houses abroad, organizations of compatriots and the media from 10 countries. It can be assumed that domestic smartphones will find active use in these structures: it has enhanced access protection to accounts.
The "R-Phone" runs on "ROSA Mobile" OS — this is a domestic development based on Linux. If Google Android and iOS are blocked in Russia, as announced on August 2 by LDPR State Duma deputy Alexei Didenko, then the release of "R-Phones" to stores is promised to be accelerated.
The smartphone will be available on the consumer market in 2025. But if Google or Apple are blocked in Russia, regardless of whose initiative it is, we will accelerate its release to the market.
It is known that the Russian smartphone received the installed application store ROSA Market. It will also be possible to install partner stores on it, for example, RuStore.
