The Russian government predicts that by the end of 2025, the share of electric vehicles in the sales structure will reach 5% – 100 thousand cars. This was commented on by auto journalist Maxim Kadakov, who recalled that the previous forecast of the authorities for electric transport did not come true.
Thus, in August 2021, officials of the Ministry of Economic Development calculated that in 2024 the number of registered electric vehicles in Russia will reach 4%. But current indicators are far from those stated.
The year 2024 has come. As of today, 4% of the fleet is about 1.8 million cars. And we have only 52 thousand electric vehicles. That is, the ministry made a mistake by about 30 times.
The journalist recalled that most of the «electric cars» are in Moscow and the Moscow region — 12 thousand pieces. Electric cars are also actively bought in St. Petersburg, the Irkutsk region, Primorye and the Krasnodar Territory.
