From October 1, 2024, Russia will see a significant increase in the recycling fee for cars and semi-trailers. As a result of this step, car prices are expected to rise significantly this fall.
In 2024, the fee will increase by an average of 70–85%. It will increase by 10–20% each year. From 2025, the indexation will also cover electric vehicles. The recycling fee for cars up to three years old will increase by 20.6 times by this year and will amount to 674 thousand rubles.
