The Russian hypersonic aviation missile system 9-A-7660 "Kinzhal" (aviation version of the Iskander OTRK) is among the most relevant serial models of military products. This was stated by the head of the state corporation (GC) "Rostec" Sergey Chemezov at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The strike of the "Kinzhal" cannot be repelled. Existing air defense and missile defense systems, including Patriot, cannot cope with this.
According to Chemezov, the following equipment was in demand in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces:
- 152-mm self-propelled artillery "Malva"
- High-precision unmanned strike complex "KUB"
- UAV Supercam
- BMP-3 with "Nakidka" camouflage kits
- TOS-1A "Solntsepek"
Work continues on adapting aerial bombs to the universal planning and correction module (UMPC). Production of aerial bombs of all calibers and types of action for use with these modules is being increased.
President Vladimir Putin first announced the 9-A-7660 Kinzhal complex in 2018. The MiG-31 served as the carrier aircraft. After being dropped, the missile flew at hypersonic speed and maneuvered throughout the flight path. The complex is capable of overcoming all existing air defense and missile defense systems.
