The management of the holding and the plant announced the increase in production capacity of «Kurganmashzavod» (part of the «High-Precision Complexes» holding of the «Rostec» state corporation) during a visit to the enterprise by the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Denis Manturov.
Both the machine tools and other equipment, in the amount of more than 800 units, were purchased with budget money and are high-precision models.
By the end of 2024, the equipment will be included in the production cycle, and the production of IFVs will be increased again: «Kurganmashzavod» is the only enterprise in Russia that produces them.
In the first seven months of this year, the volume of supplies of light armored vehicles in Russia exceeded the entire volume of 2022 by one and a half times, while since the beginning of the special military operation, the volume of supplies of combat vehicles has tripled. 56% of the annual production volume of combat vehicles has already been delivered, with some ahead of schedule. In particular, «Kurganmashzavod» has undertaken additional obligations this year to supply BMP-3s in excess of the volumes provided for in the schedule.
With the support of the government, the company continues a large-scale program to re-equip facilities and introduce new production technologies. The expansion also affected personnel: over the past two years, more than 3,000 people have been employed at «Kurganmashzavod».
