The "Vympel" shipyard (part of USC) in Rybinsk launched the high-speed missile boat "Molniya" of project 12418. It will serve as part of the Navy, ensuring the safety of Russian borders.
Today we have a significant event - the launching of each ship is very important for shipbuilders. In this case, it is a high-speed missile boat, which, in addition, has artillery armament.
The modernized missile boat was named "Stupinets" in honor of the city of Stupino, Moscow region. "Molniya" missile boats of project 12418 are designed to eliminate enemy surface warships, boats and transports independently and in cooperation with the fleet's strike forces. The "Molniya" boat is equipped with modern communications, navigation and weapons.
It is assumed that "Stupinets" will join the Caspian Flotilla. If necessary, it will be transferred to the waters of the Black or Azov Sea along inland waterways.
The main strike weapon of the new boat is the "Uran" anti-ship missile system with Kh-35 missiles.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the newest icebreaker "Evpatiy Kolovrat" was accepted into the Navy. It has passed a full cycle of tests, specialists checked the seaworthiness of the ship, its aeronautical equipment, maneuverability and all ship systems.
