Russian self-propelled anti-aircraft missile systems "Strela-10M3" on the front lines have begun to be equipped with small-sized X-band AESA radars of the "Volna" series. This was reported by military expert Evgeny Damantsev.

According to him, the new product will ensure the timely detection of UAVs for optical-electronic reconnaissance and enemy FPV drones at a distance of up to 10 km in favorable and difficult meteorological conditions.

After that, target designation will be issued for the infrared visit for the further use of the 9M336 interceptor missile with a three-band optoelectronic homing head with a high level of noise immunity.

  • Weight — 12 tons
  • Destruction zone — in range (0.8 – 5 km), in height – (0.025 - 3.5 km)
  • Speed of targets hit — up to 420 m/s
  • Number of missiles on the BM — 8 pcs
  • Warhead weight of the missile — 15 kg
  • Maximum speed km/h — on the highway (60 km/h), afloat (5-6 km/h)
  • Fuel range — 500 km
