Russian military personnel on the front lines are successfully countering heavy Western-style armored vehicles. The domestic RPG-30 "Kryuk" grenade launcher helps them in this.
"Kryuk" has an innovative dual-caliber design for man-portable anti-tank grenade launchers, using a target simulator to overcome active protection and fires two rockets at once.
Structurally, the RPG-30 consists of two parallel tubes containing rockets. The tube outlets are closed with petal-shaped rubber membranes. The larger diameter tube contains the main tandem HEAT anti-tank grenade with a caliber of 105 mm.
The smaller diameter tube houses a rocket-simulator, which has the same radar signature and trajectory as the main grenade, so it is classified by active protection systems as an attacking rocket, causing them to trigger. And then the main rocket with a tandem warhead flies into the resulting breach in the active protection.
According to data from open sources, none of the dynamic protection systems are currently capable of withstanding the RPG-30 "Kryuk." The projectile penetrates 600 mm of armor steel after overcoming active protection.
Tactical and Technical Characteristics of the RPG-30 "Kryuk":
- Grenade launcher weight - 10.3 kg
- Length - 1135 mm
- Caliber - 105 mm
- Sighting range - 200 m
- Ammunition type - single-use
Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian soldiers were armed with "Drone Guns" to combat enemy drones. The effective firing range is up to 40 meters.
