The Russian heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A has received a convenient, simple and intuitive control system. With the help of the control panel, you can aim at the target within a minute, the soldiers called it \"Cheburashka.\"
The \"Solntsepyok\" control panel got its nickname for its external resemblance to the cartoon character of the same name. The panel has a central part - the \"head\", as well as two handles on the sides - the \"ears.\"
In one salvo, \"Solntsepyok\" is capable of covering up to four km² with damaging fire. With the help of a laser rangefinder, the distance to the target is determined with an accuracy of up to 10 m, which for unguided thermobaric projectiles is practically sniper fire. If the line of defense stretches, then the military loads a \"full package\" and processes the area.
The system can fire direct fire at an object visible in the sight. Accordingly, the trajectory of the projectiles is flat. This is not typical for multiple launch rocket systems, which usually fire along ballistic trajectories from closed positions.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a batch of the latest T-90M tanks with the Kalina fire control system entered the Russian Armed Forces.
