Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems confidently cope with Western ATACMS and Storm Shadow missiles, requiring 30 to 90 seconds to eliminate them. This was reported to Krasnaya Zvezda by Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Division, Colonel Andrei T.
The military official noted that the same amount of time is sufficient to intercept a Neptune missile. According to him, during the operation of the command post, the operational duty officer constantly provides information about the directions from which a strike is possible, the approximate number of targets, and the flight time to the defended object.
Based on the experience of using the S-400 division's weapons, it took mainly 30 to 90 seconds to shoot down an American ATACMS ballistic missile, an Anglo-French Storm Shadow cruise missile, or a Neptune cruise missile.
Technical characteristics of the S-400 air defense system:
- Engagement range — up to 250 km
- Altitude of engagement — up to 27 km
- Speed of engaged targets — up to 4,800 m/s
- Number of simultaneously engaged targets by one air defense system — up to 6
