In Russia, prices for servicing car air conditioners, including freon refills and cleaning, have increased, according to Fit Service.
The increase in service costs is due to rising prices for consumables and service equipment. Additionally, employee salaries have also increased. Since the beginning of the year, there has been a 23% increase compared to the same period last year.
Among the consumables, freon has risen in price the most. A 13.6-kilogram cylinder could be bought for 7,000 rubles in winter, but now it costs from 16,000 to 22,000 rubles. The entire air conditioning service procedure has become an expensive pleasure, averaging 11,000 rubles.
Vice President of the National Automobile Union, Anton Shaparin, noted that the cost of any service work has increased. He attributes this to rising salaries and increased costs of consumables. The price of the latter has risen due to Western sanctions.
Director of Fit Service, Tatyana Ovchinnikova, noted that the cost of car maintenance has increased by 29% since the beginning of the year. One of the reasons is the shortage of personnel, with the industry lacking about 30-40% of employees.
