The latest FPV drones of the "Hornet Queen" class have begun to appear on the front lines, which will require a separate approach from the Russian military to destroy them. Time-tested combat equipment can help in the elimination of drones, said military analyst Evgeny Damantsev.
The expert recalled that promising copters of the "Hornet Queen" class, thanks to their modular design and payload capacity of up to 9.5 kg, are able to become a carrier platform for the RPG-26 "Tavolga" and RPG-30 "Kryuk".
Some components of these drones, including hardware units and engine nacelles, will be covered with light Kevlar or sheet aluminum armor plates to protect against shrapnel from ammunition used from 12-gauge shotguns.
Consequently, machine gun systems, ZU-23-2, ZSU-23-4 "Shilka" and "Strela-10M3" SAM systems will become the most appropriate means of intercepting drones of this type according to the "cost-effectiveness" criterion.
Earlier www1.ru reported that modernized Ka-27M helicopters entered service with the Pacific Fleet in Primorye. They are designed for anti-submarine warfare.
