Roskomnadzor has demanded that Apple remove 4 more popular VPN services from the App Store. The request was granted.
Red Shield VPN, Le VPN, Proton VPN, and Nord VPN have disappeared from the app store. The programs were removed from public access due to non-compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation. Apple has offered developers to independently resolve the issue with Roskomnadzor.
Apple is one of the few American companies that strives to comply with Russian law and maintains a dialogue with the regulator. I am sure that this position is dictated by the desire to officially return to the Russian market in the long term.
It is worth noting that Roskomnadzor has the right to block programs to bypass blocking since November 2023. Access is closed to those applications that pose a threat, and their work is carried out in violation of the laws. The agency has already restricted the operation of more than 150 VPN services.
