Залечь на дно не выйдет: российский снаряд «Китолов-2М» вышел за крупным уловом

The guided projectile will reach enemy armored vehicles at a distance of up to 13.5 km

Russian military personnel at the forefront are successfully using 122-mm guided artillery projectiles "Kitolov-2M" from the complex of the same name, developed by the Tula Instrument Design Bureau.

The KM-3 "Kitolov-2M" guided weapon system is designed to engage stationary and moving, single and group, armored and unarmored targets and engineering structures from self-propelled and towed artillery systems of 122 mm caliber.

In combat use, the "Kitolov-2M" complex ensures a direct hit on the target with the first shot without sighting, firing with reduced meteorological and ballistic preparation, engaging group targets at single firing settings, and engaging the target from above into the upper, least protected projection of the target.

The "Malakhit" automated fire control system provides target detection and illumination (including at night), and automated calculation of firing settings.

Main characteristics of the "Kitolov-2M" projectile:

  • Firing range — from 2000 to 13500 m
  • Projectile weight — 28.3 kg
  • Warhead type — high-explosive fragmentation
  • Warhead/explosive weight — 12.25/5.3 kg
  • Method of engaging the target from above — along a dive-bombing trajectory

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces began to use a symbiosis of the "Piranha" FPV drone and an airplane-type UAV. Such UAVs can simultaneously carry other drones, drop them, and operate as a repeater.
