Russian military personnel on the front lines have begun using a symbiosis of Piranha kamikaze drones and airplane-type unmanned aerial vehicles. Such UAVs can simultaneously carry other drones, drop them, and act as a repeater.
The Simbirsk Design Bureau is developing the device. The fixed-wing drone flies high, which allows it to bypass enemy electronic warfare systems.
Since airplane-type drones can fly to a distance of 50 km or more, the range of use increases many times over. Plus, the "airplane" flies high, is inaccessible to many radars, and even more so to electronic warfare. This symbiosis is already working.
The company bureau noted that the use of an airplane UAV that drops drones is a complex operation. This requires pilots to have meticulous settings, high personal skills, and perfectly structured equipment operation.
Piranha FPV drones are capable of carrying loads up to 5 kg, hitting enemy supply facilities, trenches, dugouts, and ground equipment.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian Armed Forces had created a miniature wheeled drone to undermine enemy fortified areas. The platform is capable of delivering a TM-62 mine to the enemy's dugout and blowing it up.
