Успешно заменил «Ласточку»: электропоезд ЭС104 «Финист» запустили в Пермском крае

It is planned to launch 7 more trains by the end of the year

Russian Railways (RZD) has launched a new ES104 "Finist" electric train on a new route. It will run in the Perm Krai. This was reported by the company's press service.

At the first stage, the train will run on the circular route Perm-2 – Perm-Sortirovochnaya – Levshino – Perm-2. Then it will be launched on suitable directions (Perm-2 – Chusovskaya, Perm-2 – Vereshchagino).

Currently, Russian Railways has 25 Finist trains, which are used in the Sverdlovsk Region and the Perm Krai. It is planned that their number will increase to 32 by the end of this year.

"Finist" is a completely Russian electric train, an analogue of "Lastochka". It has ergonomic seats, individual USB sockets, and more sanitary cabins (three). For the convenience of passengers with limited mobility, there is a lift and fasteners for wheelchairs.

"Finist" was created to replace "Lastochka". It differs from it in the frontal part, which is more inclined and ergonomic. Each seat has charging devices, their angle has been changed for the comfort of passengers. The number of sanitary facilities has been increased from two to three.

The ES104 electric train consists of five cars. The total capacity is 1265 people. The maximum speed is 160 km/h.

It is worth noting that the German company Siemens Mobility was engaged in the maintenance and repair of Sapsan and Lastochka trains. The company stopped working in Russia in 2022 against the background of sanctions. It was decided to import-substitute "Lastochka" with the "Finist" train. The first electric train was launched from Yekaterinburg to Kamensk-Uralsky at the end of December 2023.
