The Ka-52M reconnaissance and attack helicopter of the Russian Aerospace Forces struck enemy manpower with S-8 unguided air-to-surface missiles. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, showing footage of the crew's combat work.
The army aviation crew in the Ka-52M helicopter carried out a strike with unguided air-to-surface missiles on camouflaged equipment and enemy manpower.
The strike was carried out with S-8 missiles at specified coordinates. After using the means of destruction, the helicopter performed an anti-missile maneuver, then released heat traps and returned to the airfield.
Today we were performing a combat flight. We were flying at extremely low altitudes.
The navigator confirmed the target was hit.
Features of the Ka-52M helicopter:
- modernized optical-electronic system with increased range of target detection and recognition
- new digital drive to improve aiming accuracy
- radar complex with active phased antenna array
- rotor blades are equipped with a more powerful heating element for operating the helicopter, including in the Arctic
- chassis wheels with higher load-bearing capacity and wear resistance
- new interior of the pilots' cabin
