The Central Research Institute for Precision Machine Engineering (JSC "TsNIITOCHMASH", part of the "Kalashnikov" concern) has supplied "Knut" simulators to the customer. With its help, cadets of higher military educational institutions and military personnel can undergo the necessary fire training in two weeks, the concern's press service reports.
The "Knut" simulator includes full-size models of the AK74M assault rifle, PKM (6P41 "Pecheneg") and RPK74N1 light machine guns, GP-25 ("Bonfire") grenade launchers, RPG-7V1 and RPG-26. Sharpening shooting skills at stationary and moving targets is possible at a distance of 100 to 700 meters. For this, electronic targets in the form of screens are provided.
The design of the training and shooting complex includes: an acoustic system, an optical model with a laser pulse, a specialized interactive fire training program. "Knut" simulates the recoil of a combat weapon due to electromagnetic pulses and return springs. The effect of presence at combat points is created by 3D-visualization.
During training, it is possible to shoot from different positions: "kneeling", "lying", "standing" due to the integrated software. Basic skills on the simulator can be obtained in 10-12 sessions of 15 minutes per day. The course fully complies with the requirements for training in shooting from small arms of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
It is worth noting that the "Knut" training shooting simulator was created on the basis of JSC "TsNIITOCHMASH" in 2004. Since then, the complex has been repeatedly modernized.
